In 2017, MGS looking to diversify, expanded into conventional warehousing. Our first storage task was to take delivery of over 100,000 bales of cotton from the cotton gins in the Southern Riverina. We did this for some of he major cotton houses including; LDC, Namoi cotton, Reinhardt. These bales were received, stored and packed into shipping containers destined for overseas companies through both the Linx Railhead at Bomen and the QUBE railhead at Harefield and Melbourne and Sydney ports respectively.
This experience taught us that a specialised programme for record keeping was required and we partnered with Brett Moore, the creator of the Grainstor programme, to implement a modern, quick, accurate programme for ease of use by operators and clients looking for live reporting stock figures.
MGS warehousing was able to transplant the qualities that worked so well in the grain storage part of the business into the new venture. High levels of hygiene, accuracy in record keeping, good communication with clients and attention to detail ensured all deadlines regarding packing and shipping were met and product was presented to the client’s customers in the best possible manner.
Since this first step we were able to follow up with similar numbers in the last cotton season and to be able to handle other products.
We can destuff containers of a large range of products with the equipment kept on site. One of the current projects is to destuff equipment for a solar farm. This task has meant the use of container ramps, side loaders, forklifts ranging from 2.5t, 3.5t, 5t and 16t to allow for the timely unpack and delivery of the equipment as communicated by the managers of the solar farm.
The staff of MGS warehousing are able to work well with the supply chain in any project and we understand the procedures that are undertaken, from tailgating of imports to vessel cut-offs and PRA’s for exports as well as the very important container detention and free time.
MGS Warehousing believe we have the capability to undertake any warehousing project and are always on the lookout for new opportunities.
