Our customers are growers in our community so we know them and they know theycan trust us, this trust has been built up over years of servicing their farming business. We act as a conduit from these growers to quality buyers and exporters that are based in Australia and need exposure to a wide range of growers to access the amounts of grain they require to service their end users.
MGS is a different business to most other handlers in the region because we don’t trade in grain, this means that multiple buyers are attracted to our site as they can see we are not a threat. This gives growers more choice at the one site so that is attractive to them over single merchants. We also offer our clients access to both Sydney and Melbourne DCT markets, enabling them to take advantage of pricing differentials that occur at any time.
We are very proud of growing MGS’s site from a relatively small site of 10,000 tonnes, when we took over, and expanding it to a facility that handles around 60,000 tonnes of product each year. This is due to our concentration on a packingprogramme which enables us to fully utilise the assets we have.
